Giving Tuesday 2017

On Giving Tuesday, November 28, The Pfeiffer Center is raising $5,000 to provide scholarships for aspiring farmers to further their training in biodynamics at the Pfeiffer Center.

Every year, working farmers and farm apprentices receive scholarship assistance to attend our midwinter intensive study of biodynamics, a form of organic agriculture focused on healing and renewing soil, plants and animals by working with all the forces and substances at play in the farm organism. Our intensive provides an invaluable opportunity for biodynamic practitioners to meet the concepts and principles underlying biodynamics in a group setting with peers and mentors.

Aquillon Hetrick, who farms at Bliss Gardens Farm in Cross Village, Michigan, received an apprentice scholarship to attended the 2017 intensive. She writes: “Being able to attend the midwinter conference was glorious for making connections with other farmers and deepening my understanding of biodynamics. So much of the work we do is with imagining and exploring processes in nature that are not so obvious. Through understanding these processes we can become better farmers! Having the opportunity to share ideas and work through questions with other like-minded people helps to gather the right mindset and inspiration for the next growing season.”

Help the Pfeiffer Center make this opportunity available to every young farmer who wants it! On Giving Tuesday, November 28, watch for our email appeal and notices on social media, give generously, and share the love with your friends. Thank you!
