Conscious Beekeeping: Practical Organic Approaches for Healthy Bees and Growing Apiaries
May 7 @ 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM| $55.00
With Bill Day
What can beekeepers do to help our bees thrive and flourish? This half-day workshop will focus on timely tasks every beekeeper should have in mind to encourage hives to build up and multiply. Following a classroom review of the bees’ cycle of the year, most of the morning will be spent with the hives in the Pfeiffer Center garden.
Ample time will be allowed for questions and discussion.
Bonus afternoon session: After lunch, Bill will lead a walk to one of the bee yards on our farm for an open conversation and demonstration.
Bill Day cares for the Pfeiffer Center’s 25-hive apiary and conducts beekeeping workshops for the Pfeiffer Center and at PASA’s annual winter conference. He has kept bees following biodynamic principles for about fifteen years.
COVID-19 Protocols: Please visit this page for information about COVID-19 safety measures at Pfeiffer Center workshops.
Please note: Due to limited classroom space, this workshop is limited to 15 registrants. If you find the workshop is full, email firstname.lastname@example.org to be put on the wait list. If the weather is clement, we will move the classroom portion outdoors.
